शिमला । हिमाचल की राजधानी शिमला इन दिनों पानी की किल्लत से जूझ रही है। एक ओर पानी न मिलने से आक्रोशित लोग विरोध प्रदर्शन पर उतर आए हैं, तो वहीं दूसरी ओर पानी की गंभीर समस्या को देखते हुए जिले के सभी सरकारी स्कूलों को बंद करने का निर्देश दिया गया है। सभी सरकारी स्कूल चार से आठ जून तक बंद रहेंगे। ये फैसला हिमाचल प्रदेश के शिक्षा विभाग द्वारा शनिवार को लिया गया। अब स्कूल दोबारा गर्मी की छुट्टियों के बाद जुलाई में होने वाले मानसून ब्रेक के दौरान खुलेंगे। बता दें कि पिछले कई दिनों से शिमला के लोग पानी की कमी से जूझ रहे हैं। पानी न मिलने से परेशान लोग अब सड़कों पर निकलकर कई दिनों से प्रदर्शन कर रहे हैं। पानी की समस्या को देखते हुए यहां पानी की आपूर्ति 2.25 करोड़ लीटर प्रति दिन से बढ़ाकर 2.80 करोड़ लीटर प्रति दिन कर दी गई, लेकिन इसके बावजूद कई क्षेत्रों में अपर्याप्त जल आपूर्ति की वजह से विरोध प्रदर्शन हो रहे हैं। इस बीच राज्य के मुख्यमंत्री जयराम ठाकुर ने शनिवार को प्रधानमंत्री कार्यालय को इस स्थिति से अवगत कराया और शिमला में पानी की स्थिति सामान्य करने के लिए ठोस कदम उठाने का भी आग्रह किया। मुख्यमंत्री ने इस समस्या के पीछे की मुख्य वजह इस साल हुई कम बारिश और बर्फबारी को बताया था। उन्होंने कहा था कि इस साल राज्य में बहुत कम बारिश व बर्फबारी हुई, जिस कारण शिमला में पारंपरिक जल स्त्रोतों में पानी का स्तर बहुत नीचे चला गया है।
