Dr. Bharat Pandey, Co-Coordinator of the Research Cell, delivered an informative address on research publications, academic excellence and the evaluation of research impact. Explaining the concept of “Publish or Perish,” he emphasised that research gains wider academic significance when original findings are published in reputed, peer-reviewed journals and subsequently recognised and cited by other researchers. He explained that the true value of research lies not merely in the number of publications but also in their quality, originality, relevance and influence on future scientific investigations.
He further familiarised the scholars with important research impact indicators, including citations, h-index and i10-index, explaining how these metrics help assess the visibility and scholarly influence of published research. Highlighting the One Nation One Subscription (ONOS) initiative, he informed scholars about opportunities to access reputed national and international scholarly journals and encouraged them to utilise these academic resources for literature reviews, identifying research gaps and strengthening the quality of their research work.
The programme also witnessed the presence of Dr. Satyamitra Singh, Dr. Parul Bhardwaj, Dr. Laxmi Devi Chauhan and Dr. Ashutosh Vikram.
