चेन्नई । देश में सफलता के नए रेकॉर्ड बना रहीं महिलाएं एक और उपलब्धि के साथ जुड़ गई हैं। दरअसल, मद्रास हाई कोर्ट में देशभर में सबसे ज्यादा महिला जजों की नियुक्ति की गई है। वहीं 10 महिला जजों के साथ दिल्ली हाई कोर्ट दूसरे नंबर पर है। शुक्रवार को 4 महिला अडिशनल जजों को शामिल करते हुए देशभर में सबसे ज्यादा महिला जजों की संख्या मद्रास हाई कोर्ट में हो गई। मद्रास हाई कोर्ट में महिला जजों की संख्या अब 11 है जबकि दिल्ली हाई कोर्ट में महिला जजों की संख्या 10 है। मद्रास हाई कोर्ट के लिए स्वीकृत जजों की संख्या 75 है जबकि यहां पर सिर्फ 60 जजों की ही नियुक्ति है। बता दें कि पहली बार कोर्ट में महिला जजों की संख्या दहाई के अंक पर पहुंची है और उनमें से 4 ने एक ही समय में शपथ ली है। कहां-कितनी महिला जज? तमिलनाडु में तकरीबन एक-तिहाई महिला जजों की नियुक्ति अधीनस्थ न्यायपालिका द्वारा की जाती क्योंकि राज्य में महिलाओं के लिए एक-तिहाई आरक्षण लागू है। बॉम्बे हाई कोर्ट में महिला जजों की संख्या 9 है जबकि इलाहाबाद हाई कोर्ट में 98 जजों की तैनाती में 6 महिला जज शामिल हैं। शुक्रवार को 6 जजों को मुख्य न्यायाधीश इंदिरा बनर्जी द्वारा शपथ दिलाई गई, जिसमें न्यायाधीश एस रामातिलगम, न्यायधीश आर तरनी, न्याधीश टी कृष्णवल्ली और न्यायाधीश आर हेमलता को शामिल किया गया।
12 पहुंच सकती थी संख्या – मुख्य न्यायाधीश को छोड़कर चार्टर्ड हाई कोर्ट में पहले से महिला जजों की संख्या 6 है, जिसमें न्यायाधीश एस विमला, न्यायाधीश पुष्पा सत्यनारायण, न्यायाधीश वीएम वेलुमनि, न्यायाधीश जे निशा बानु, न्यायाधीश अनीता सुमंत और न्यायाधीश वी भवानी सुब्बारोयन शामिल हैं। नई नियुक्त हुईं महिला जजों के साथ ही संख्या 12 पर पहुंच सकती थी लेकिन सरोजनी देवी के चयन को स्थगित कर दिया गया, जिन्हें मद्रास हाई कोर्ट द्वारा चयनित 6 उम्मीदवारों के साथ अनुशंसित किया गया था। लंबित मामलों को ध्यान में रखते हुए हाई कोर्ट के न्यायाधीशों के रूप में नियुक्ति के लिए दो बैचों में अनुशंसित 11 नामों से उनका नाम हटा दिया गया।
