नई टिहरी (संवाददाता)। ऑलवेदर रोड के तहत जिले के चंबा शहर में ऑस्ट्रेलियन तकनीक एनएटीएम (न्यू आस्ट्रेलियन टेक्नालॉजिक्स मैथड) से साढ़े चार सौ मीटर लंबी सुरंग बनाई जाएगी। उत्तराखंड के पहाड़ी क्षेत्रों में सड़क पर बनने वाली यह सबसे बड़ी सुरंग होगी। इस दौरान सुरंग के ऊपर बसे चंबा बाजार से कोई छेड़छाड़ नहीं की जाएगी और बाजार यथावत रहेगा। ऑलवेदर रोड का काम ऋषिकेश से धरासू तक तेजी से चल रहा है। इस प्रोजेक्ट के तहत चंबा में सड़क चौड़ी करने के बजाय सुरंग बनाने की योजना बनाई गई है। चंबा में साढ़े चार सौ मीटर लंबी सुरंग इस प्रोजेक्ट के तहत बनाई जाएगी। चंबा बाजार के नीचे से सुरंग निकलेगी और सीधा गंगोत्री राजमार्ग पर मिलेगी। चंबा जिले का बेहद घना बाजार है और अगर यहां पर रोड के लिए छेड़छाड़ की जाती तो पूरा बाजार इसकी चपेट में आ जाता। लेकिन सुरंग बनने के बाद बाजार पर कोई असर नहीं पड़ेगा। बीआरओ इस प्रोजेक्ट पर काम कर रहा है। बीआरओ के मुताबिक न्यू ऑस्ट्रेलियन टेक्नालॉजिक्स मैथड (एनएटीएम) तकनीक से यह सुरंग बनाई जाएगी। इसमें जमीन को खोदकर उसकी मिट्टी निकाली जाएगी और धीरे-धीरे उसे कंक्रीट से मजबूत किया जाएगा। दस मीटर चौड़ी इस सुरंग में पैदल यात्रियों के लिए फुटपाथ भी छोड़ा जाएगा। सितंबर माह में इस सुरंग का काम शुरू हो जाना था, लेकिन एनजीटी की कुछ आपत्तियों के कारण अभी काम शुरू नहीं हो पाया है। बीआरओ का कहना है कि मामले में सुनवाई चल रही है और जल्द ही यहां से निर्देश मिलने के बाद काम शुरू किया जाएगा। बीआरओ के चीफ इंजीनियर एएस राठौर ने बताया कि चंबा में सुरंग का काम जल्द शुरू किया जाएगा। यह साढ़े चार सौ मीटर लंबी सुरंग है, जो उत्तराखंड के पहाड़ी मार्ग में सड़क पर बनने वाली सबसे लंबी सुरंग होगी।
