सिद्धू टिकट बँटवारे में भी जलवा बरकरार रखना चाहते हैं। उन्होंने टिकट की लाइन में खड़े मुख्यमंत्री चन्नी के भाई को बाहर का रास्ता दिखा दिया। डॉ0 मनोहर सिंह ने आनन-फानन में इस अपमान से तिलमिलाकर निर्दलीय चुनाव लड़ने की ठान ली। वे बस्सी पाठना से कांग्रेस के खिलाफ चुनाव लड़ेंगे और आम आदमी पार्टी को कड़ी टक्कर देने की हौंसला भी दिखा रहे हैं। उनका दावा है कि वे बस्सी सीट को जीत कर अपने बड़े भाई को उपहार में देंगे। सूत्र यही बता रहे हैं कि नवजोत सिंह सिद्धू के इशारे पर ही उनका टिकट काटा गया। कांग्रेस ने इस सीट पर मौजूदा विधायक गुरप्रीत सिंह को अवसर दिया है। आम आदमी पार्टी के उम्मीदवार भूपिंदर सिंह इस सीट पर जीत के दावे कर रहे हैं। उनका कहना है कि बस्सी क्षेत्र के लोग कांग्रेस से ऊब चुके हैं और आप को सत्ता में देखना चाहते हैं।
